What I tried to accomplish with this piece was to emphasize Conan even though the girl provided a good balance.
For the ground work, I decided to keep it flat and dry looking representing the dry desert. I signed the piece on the front, since I thought it would be easier to see than constantly turning it over. I blended the signature in and signed it next to the spot Frazetta has his signature on the painting.
