The Gallic Celt – 1st Century B.C., 1/9th Scale, resin, produced byPilipili,  Work-in-progress by Alex Castro

The Gallic Celt is a wonderful piece sculptured by the talented Le-Van Quang. This is an impressive piece of a Celt carrying his war horn. It was a piece that provided a good platform for my skin painting techniques. This piece is still incomplete since the face, arm and chest require tattoos. The hair is limed, a technique the Gallics used going into battle which made their hair stiff. A picture of the Gallic Celt was presented to the sculptor as a tribute through the internet for Pilipili’s 10th anniversary. I was inspired to do this piece from a famous Roman sculpture, the Dying Gaul.
